06 Motion Graphics | Infomotion
Project Summary
The infomotion project involves creating a Vox- or Kurzgesagt-esque motion graphic video. The aim is to explore a topic that most people have "always wondered" about. The information conveyed is through an entertaining narrative, which helps viewers both learn, and gain new perspectives on the topic. Various infographic formats, as well as media like animation and film, are used to capture the message. In preparation for the project, narrative analysis and script writing exercises are conducted to aid in the creation of infomotion.

Rationale
Through vigorous research and conceptualisation, we decided to investigate the the two opposing sides of Critical Acclaim and Popular Opinion in film, by specifically looking at the Academy Awards (The Oscars) and which films are awarded, as well as institutions such as the People's Choice awards that showcase popular opinion. The aim was to contrast the two polar sides against each other, pointing out the benefits and downfalls of each, concluding that there needs to be some form of combination of the two. Popular opinion is an important aspect of films, and need to be incorporated somewhere, even if it is small.
