AIGA Arizona Chapter Chair
Art and Design in the Urban Desert
The year was 1914. A group of visionaries convened for the very first meeting of what later became the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts). On that occasion, each member had to bring their own chair. In honor of this founding event the association asked each of its chapters to create a custom chair design as part of AIGA's centennial celebration.
It was asked to design the chair representing AIGA AZ and I'm happy to share the progress for this piece with the following images. Symbolism and meaning have been woven throughout the piece, yet the interpretation is yours to discover.
