En dehors de son activité de pêche, on peut trouver la Grande Aigrette perchée à bonne hauteur, jusqu'a une quinzaine de mètres, en compagnie d'autres oiseaux, Cormorans, Hérons et autres Ardéidés. Elle nichera généralement en colonies.
