CONCEPT: TREEHOUSE
Wandering Minds Bookstore is located on Main Street Manayunk in Philadelphia, PA. This bookstore is intended to be modern and sustainable, and reflect the personality of the client. The concept for this store was inspired by nature and treehouses. The main and mezzanine floors are pulled away from the walls on 3 sides and supported by structural steel "trees" and support beams. The floors are cut out in multiple spots and it is intended that various areas of the store can be visible from anywhere a customer is standing. The cut outs in the floor combined with the vertical structure give customers the feeling that they are floating up in the trees.
