Dual Monologue is the title for my new series of work which is created in continuation with my previous temporary text-based floor installations. This series, however, includes permanent physical bodies of sculptures in which the text has been pulled out of the main focus and they seemed to be embedded into the forms subtly, but yet they make deep meaningful connotations. The works straddle the space between representation and abstraction to explore the boundary between myself and my physical and mental capabilities. In fact, they borrow from the natural world to reveal hybridized forms which at first may implicitly seem to represent masculine forms. Having the deeper look, however, will disclose the entanglement of both feminine and masculine forms which are intertwined in such a way that the beginning and the end cannot be easily distinguished.

Within this new boundary, I have been pushed far out of my mental and physical comfort, looking strong, independent, and tough from the outside and yet fragile and vulnerable inside. The embedded words make you think deeply about their relationship to the forms that they are attached to. They still make contradictions but on a more personal level.
