Muscle physiology
All skeletal muscle is surrounded by the epimysium, a dense, unshaped connective tissue. The epimysium gives rise to the perimysium, a looser and less fibrous connective tissue that surrounds the bundles of muscle fibers. Each muscle cell is surrounded by the endomysium, which are reticular fibers and a basal lamina.
