We The People: The Bill of Rights | Netflix Series
"The Bill of Rights" is the second episode of We The People, an animated series that teaches the basis of rights and citizenship in the United States, streaming now on Netflix. This music-led animated piece, featuring Adam Lambert, take us through a modern perspective to the 10 amendments to the Constitution.
I had the pleasure to be part of the initial concepting and visual development of the episode, together with an amazing group of talented people at BUCK!

Art Direction
Since the beginning, the idea of telling this story through tangible visuals was always present. We tried many different things, but at the end we decided to go for a mix between paper, collage and illustration inspired in protest and street art.
Using this visual style, we'd be able to draw a connection between the essence of the Bill of Rights, and how is it experienced in modern life. Paper is not used just as a medium, but as a visual representation of "speech". Paper is the most democratic of all mediums in modern history, allowing people to communicate, educate and fight for their rights.

My role in this project as a Designer was to start some concepting and visual development for Amendments 1, 3, 4, and 5 plus some extra explorations which were developed further by other artists credited at the end of this page and also on BUCK's website.
First Amendment: Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.
Third Amendment: No quartering of soldiers.
Fourth Amendment: Freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures.
Fifth Amendment: Right to due process of law and freedom from self-incrimination.
