A true dream project with a lot of creative flexibility. I felt incredibly honoured inspired to work with this client and be part of a project with six other amazing artists from around the world. 

The brief was pretty simple. Make an illustration that includes the OSCARs figure in some way, answering the question: "What does movies mean to you?"

For me, watching movies is a lot about being transfered to this other world. When the story, the acting, the photo, the costume and everything else comes together to create this alternative world that you get to step into for a while. To feel the feeling of the movie and experience new things through that journey. 

As part of the campaign I also got to pick out and write about some of my favourite films.

Here you can see some of the sketches I worked on before during the creative journey. From the beginning I wanted to play with this idea of surrounding the statuette with shapes representing the nuances of the film, but these ones didn't feel powerful enough.
