MY ODE TO PINE TREES
Pines - what's not to love about their gnarliness, their wonderful bark and the overall detail of this beautiful creatures. As we lack gnarly and ancient oaks, beech trees or laurel trees in Austria, where I live, I was looking for equally interesting creatures in the woodlands around the area of Vienna. Luckily I knew some locations from the past years, when I used to got mountainbiking a lot, that where crowded with pines - especially in the south of Vienna. Most of them are tall and straight, planted especially for logging purposes. But I knew some protected areas, featuring more than 200 year old trees that I went to explore. This project is regularly updated as I just started to explore that area with my camera.
