This is my interpretation of our 3rd year Folk Tales brief, which focused on the story of Rumplestiltskin. I chose a science fiction setting with a young chemist replacing the miller's daughter from the original tale. She makes a deal with a shadowy figure to save her career, trading military secrets for advanced chemical formulae. My Rumplestiltskin is an evil A.I bent on world destruction, who reveals his true form after the chemist renages on her deal with him and attempts to kill him. In the end, after failing to guess his real name three times she is forced to sacrifice herself to stop him from destroying the world.
