Modern Wall Lighting

Folding the prototypes included a lot of spontaneous paper crumpling and seeing what forms could be found using only a single sheet. It was amazing how much structure and strength could be created from something usually so fragile and flimsy. Finalizing the shapes was a lot of fun, the papercuts were not.

This light was inspired by cocci (round) bacterial cells. I thought it was really cute that coccus comes from the Greek word 'kokkos' meaning berry; especially since the molding strawberry was one of my main inspirations.

This light is based off of the structural window frames and the fragmented light that was shining through the broken glass.

This light shines pink for some strange reason when the light is on and it's the only one of the three that does that. This light is inspired by the essence of growth, both seen in the mold and the regrowth after the effects of urban decay.
