The LED Brake Light Ring originated from one of the guys on the engineering team putting a strip of LEDs around a 5 gallon paint bucked lid and drilling some holes to mount behind his spare tire. He had so many people stop him at traffic lights and gas stations to talk about how cool it was that we had to turn it into a product!

The body is an injection molded plastic with a recess to press the LEDs into. I was able to source the original brake light plug used by Jeep on the JK Wrangler to put on the end so it was a direct plug and play product. Once the product hit the market, it didn't take long for all the other players in the aftermarket to catch on to what a hit it was and started making their own knockoffs.

My role in the project was the engineering and CAD work, picking the texture for the mold, and sourcing the correct electrical components.
