Artworks for short stories collection, The dead fish

Introduction

These are artworks/illustrations done for a book of short stories written by Pravin Kumar. The book is titled "The dead fish" (Tamil: செத்தமச்சம், Sethamacham). Pravin kumar is an electronics engineer working in Bengaluru(Bangalore). He hails from Nagerkoyil, Tamil Nadu. I can sense that Pravin is going to become a significant writer of Tamil literature.

After reading the short stories, I captured the visuals that each story created in me through rough sketches. Then I and pravin selected one composition per short story. Each composition was later detailed. I sent some of these sketches to my friends/reviewers including the writer. Upon their feedback I reworked them to the current state. Now you can browse the artworks.

அறிமுகம்

இங்கு இருக்கும் ஓவியங்கள் அனைத்தும், பிரவின் குமார் எழுதிய சிறுகதைகள் தொகுப்பிற்காக வரையப்பட்டவை. இந்த தொகுப்பின் தலைப்பு, 'செத்தமச்சம்'. பிரவின்குமார் பெங்களூரில் மின்னியல் பொறியாளராக பணிபுரிகிறார்; நாகர்கோயில்காரர். பிரவின், தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தில் மிக முக்கியமான ஒரு எழுத்தாளராக போகிறார் என்பதை என்னால் உணர முடிகிறது.

சிறுகதைகளைப் படித்த பிறகு, ஒவ்வொரு கதையும் என்னுள் உருவாக்கியக் காட்சிகளை, சிறுக் கிறுக்கல்களில் பதிவு செய்துக்கொண்டேன். பின்னர், பிரவினும் நானும் ஒவ்வொருக் கதைக்கும் ஒருக் காட்சியைத் தேர்வு செய்தோம். தேர்ந்தெடுத்த ஒவ்வொருக் காட்சிகளையும் விரிவாக வரைந்தேன். சில நண்பர்களுக்கு(பிரவின் உட்பட) இந்த ஓவியங்களை அனுப்பினேன். அவர்களின் விமர்சனங்கள் பொறுத்து படங்களை தற்போதைய நிலைக்கு சரிசெய்தேன். இப்போது ஓவியங்கள் உங்கள் காட்சிக்கு.
