Frogs in the Dark Pond

Frogs in a Dark Pond
Back at my family home, we have a small pond on our property. It attracts of wide variety of small wildlife, especially insects and amphibians. Growing up, I was always obsessed with hanging out by the pond and watching various creatures come and go. This year we had quite the presence of large frogs, which presented me with some great photo opportunities.

Wildlife photography is always challenging. While your typical photo skills are necessary, like understanding natural lighting and the correct camera settings, you have to be very observant, quick, and dexterous to capture such interesting and exciting images. But most of all, you have to be patient. Patience is by far the number one skill all nature photographers must have, as you need to be able to wait and watch for nature to form around you, whether its skittish animals coming out into the open, plants being caught in the wind, and even the sun moving and hitting just the right spot. If there was ever an art form that makes you slowdown and take in the world around you, it's nature photography.
