Wooden Toy Pinball Machine

The design of the wooden Pinball Machine toys stands for lots of fun with few resources. This wooden toy functions as a canvas for creativity. The rest can be filled in by the child (literally and figuratively).

The background board contains holes that allow children to create obstacles with pins and rubber bands and letting them decide how difficult or easy they want to make it. There are two background boards, wood and acrylic. With the acrylic board, that is transparent, children can put their drawings in the drawer and see their own drawing while playing.

The entire design is designed to be made with a laser cutter from sheet wood.

Children can build their own 'levels' by sticking shapes in the holes of the board with pins.

Even though the pinball machine isn't symmetrical, it contains an integrated ball launch mechanism. The pinball machine has a slope of three degrees. This speed is not too challenging for children between the ages of 3 and 5. Furthermore, the drawer is suitable for regular A4 paper.

Below you can see how two drawings can be used as backgrounds. This way children can play in their fantasy world. The purpose of the toy is to challenge children to combine creativity and motor skills.

All handles are suitable for children's hands. The drawer contains a hole to easily get the drawer out of the pinball machine, this hole is not dangerous because it is not a full circle. This makes the risk of fingers getting stuck a lot lower. The pinball machine has holes on the side to be lifted. This provides enough support and prevents the toy from dropping.
