ProGoat: Hackathon Mobile Application

ProGoat Mobile Application
During a hackathon, a team of 4 was given 36 hours to implement computer science to solve a social issue prevalent in our local community of Worcester. The social issue that is prevalent within our local community that was the focus of this project was mental health. The application seeks to help improve mental health by connecting students to the campus culture, promoting inclusiveness, and connecting students directly to resources that are offered by WPI. The different aspects of the application can be found below.
Home Screen
The home screen of the application produced a feed that displays the current activities occurring on campus. If the application was instituted, clubs and student activities would be able to promote activities on campus. This would serve as a great place for students to see what is occurring on campus in one central source and promote happiness and the benefits of campus life.
Home Screen
Calendar
The second screen demonstrates a live calendar that centralizes activities on campus. Seen below is an example demonstration.
Survey
The third screen is a collection of surveys designed to connect students to resources or activities. Each survey had a collection of questions that are custom tailored to lead an individual to the proper resource. Whether it be from thoughts of self harm, academic exhaustion, or academic difficulties; the application is designed to aide students in obtaining help. In addition to resources, these surveys help individuals learn of establishments, restaurants, and activities happening in Worcester and the surrounding area.
Resources
The final screen depicts the results of all surveys. All surveys get automatically saved and only the most recent three surveys are displayed. By clicking the name shown, the selected survey would open up and display the contents to the user. These surveys can be deleted through the delete all results button.
Another feature incorporated on this screen is the contact button. The drop down box contains a searchable, alphabetical list of all resources, clubs, and activity managers on campus. The user can auto-reach out to organizations by selecting the desired group and selecting the "Contact" button. This auto-generates a message that gets automatically emailed through SMTP.
