Pampore Brand Identity

My hometown of Pampore is a small town located on the banks of river Jehlum in the Kashmir valley. Famous for being home to the best quality of the world’s most expensive spice, Pampore is one of the very few places where saffron can grow. I have always wanted to do the branding for Pampore and thought what better time than now.

The goal was to create a brand identity that truly reflected Pampore as the young and full of potential town that it is. I wanted to capture the vision Pampore embodies of becoming modern and cosmopolitan. Ready to compete with any major city, anywhere around the globe.

Each of the administrative areas have a unique colour code and can be identified easily on signage or in use in internal applications.
The logo was designed first and the original logo consists of the three crocus flowers that take the shape of the three dots in the Kashmiri letter پ (pronounced, pay) . It also has the shape of a heart.
This led to the development of a whole logo system where the Crocus flower could be used individually.
The word mark was finalised next. The typeface Clash Display by Indian type Foundry was chosen for it. The typeface, along with Cooper Hewitt by Chester Jenkins was used as the standard typeface for the whole brand identity.
