Este proyecto nace por la iniciativa del concurso āThe Index Projectā, proyecto que busca generar un impacto social por problemas que se detecten en nuestra sociedad.Ā
Nuestro proyecto comenzĆ³ cuando nos dimos cuenta que como grupo compartĆamos el amor hacia la moda, pero siempre lamentando lo que el Fast Fashion generaba y estando conscientes de la otra cara de la industria textil.
El proyecto āInvisibilizadasā trata de evidenciar a todas aquellas mujeres chilenas que se dedican al rubro de manufactura textil. Para hacer esto posible, nos agrupamos con una organizaciĆ³n llamada āModistas y Costureras Organizadasā, con quienes tuvimos la oportunidad de compartir y comprender la situaciĆ³n laboral que ellas viven en nuestro paĆs actualmente. Dado esta problemĆ”tica decidimos ayudarlas a alzar la voz por las injusticias a las cuales se deben someter, y a que Chile abra los ojos frente a esta terrible situaciĆ³n. Para esto, creamos un paƱuelo que serĆa vendido para darle un apoyo financiero a esta organizaciĆ³n de costureras. Estos serĆan hechos por ellas basado en nuestro diseƱo que surge a travĆ©s de la investigaciĆ³n, de lo que nos contaron ellas y el mensaje que se busca transmitir.
This project was born by the initiative of the contest "The Index Project", a project that seeks to generate a social impact due to problems that are detected in our society.Ā
Ā Our project began when we realized that we, as a group, shared a love for fashion, but always regretting what Fast Fashion generated and being aware of the other side of the textile industry.The "Invisibilizadas" project tries to show all those Chilean women who are dedicated to the textile manufacturing sector. To make this possible, we joined an organization called "Organized Dressmakers and Seamstresses", with whom we had the opportunity to share and understand the labor situation that they currently live in our country. Given this problem, we decided to help them raise their voices for the injustices to which they must be subjected, and for Chile to open its eyes to this terrible situation. For this, we created a scarf that would be sold to give financial support to this organization of seamstresses. These would be made by them based on our design that arises through research, what they told us and the message they seek to convey.
