art district
This project was a semester long exploration of the concept of a new art district in Design Systems. The first steps included adressing the problem and exploring applicable solutions. Our team explored existing art districts within the area and examined what made them successful. After the research was done we began to explore what we/ the community wanted out of their art district. Our team came to the name react because we wanted to community to react to the art and the surroundings. A sub purpose behind the name was that we wanted every community member to embrace their 5-senses to see, feel, touch, smell, and even taste the district and what it has to offer. These 5 sense played into our final logo of a pentagon. The 3D element reflected the dynamic and diversity the district would have. Like the art district it was not stagnant it would be evolving and changing.
Finally we created what our district would look and act like by creating a level of deliverables and concepts that would be presented to board members and community members of Lakewood, Colorado.
