For this project i decided to illustrate the scenes in black and white to express the sorrow, dark and heavy asmosphere
of the whole book.
These artworks were done with photoshop CC 2018.
The very first scene of the book is when the protagonist of the story - Gregor Samsa woke up in the body of a filthy vermin.
My intention was to keep he head of the charater as the face of Franz Kafka because this story partially reflected the relationship between him and his family member.
In the room there was a picture of a woman in fur boa, hanged in a gilded frame Gregor made himself, in order for him to hang on the reality of how being a human was.

Second scene illustrated was when the sister of Gregor pushed rotten food into the room for him since he can’t consume normal, fresh food because he is now a vermin. On the plate was dinner’s leftovers,
old cheese, and rotten vegetables.
The father of Gregor went home, misunderstood and hulled apples at him is the third crucial scene. An apple hit his fatal part of the body which caused him serious injury.
The Metamorphosis: the death of Gregor is one of the final scenes. After going through all of the sufferings, the protagonist decided to starve himself to death and the family was very pleasant about it because they saw him as a burden after all of the drama. They moved on very fast after this event. This is also the only way out for Gregor.
