Teamwork
Editorial

My husband and I. We're a team - in raising our kids, exploring the world, and figuring out what comes next. Together. He brings a completely different perspective to things I would assume were a 'given'. He opens my eyes to possibilities I would never have previously considered on my own.

It's great to have someone's back, knowing they have yours.

"None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful."
Mother Teresa

That wink. It won me over.

Keeping the animation simple

Process
I kept the avatar simple to test how easily the visual style could be animated in Photoshop.
As it turns out, limiting the movement to a small area worked pretty well. I would avoid the outlines though if animating the character in more depth.

Usually, when I create an image, I have a clear idea of the style I plan to follow. In this case, I was curious to see where the sketch took me, so I ran with it. I'm pretty happy with the direction it took.

What do you think?

Once I had developed the illustration style, I tackled a new character - my husband - to see if the style and colour palette would successfully translate across different ethnicities and genders.
