Sapiens: a brief history of humankind is one of my most favorite books, so I decided to create short animations that explain some of my best takeaways from it.
The first animation I did is from its mesmerizing opening lines that take us seamlessly from the beginning of the universe; to the earliest humans and modern culture.

A bit about my process and how I created the animation:
I usually start thinking about the main message I want to convey and writing the script for it.

I then look for some inspiration in books and online resources and create mood boards. At this point, I should have a good understanding of the visuals and style, and I make artboards and connect them with the script.
The next step is creating an animatic version, which is essentially a rough animation that allows me to check if the voice-over and subtitles time is correct (not too slow or too fast).

The final part is improving the animation and adding all the small details, effects, sound, and rendering.
