In the beginning of 2020 just before COVID took hold of the world and our lives in its grip. I lived in Sydney and we were just coming out of one of the worst bushfire seasons seen in recent times, the tragedy of George Floyd was unravelling to deepen the divide the social understanding of American society and the world was changing fast around me.

Thus I embarked to document the simple things around me and stretch my photography by taking pictures with my phone using apps that emulated film stock. Film photography has become the new fad for that year with more people becoming interested in the analogue process of taking pictures and printing them. The finite nature of shooting on film and the time it takes to print your photograph from the rolls of film has made the process more slower and more refined hence eliciting the photographer to be more intent on the art of capturing pictures. 

At the time my photography gear was limited to my phone thus I embarked on taking these frames with it and using apps that simulated different film stock. I used I Love Film and VSCO for this project.
