The project : For this project, we are to design and create a poster using recyclable items following the Hari Gawai/Harvest Festival theme
Research and sketches :
At first I was going to design a poster based on this 'Terabai' but then I thought it was too simple and continued to add more elements to improve my final sketches.

This is the final sketch that I decide to proceed with .
Progression :
I used an A2 size grey mounting board as the base and sketched out the shape so that I know where to paste the recyclable items.
For the outer part of the Terabai, I used a red ribbon to outline the shape. I also used white string as an outline for the head gear worn by male dancers during Hari Gawai called 'cawat'. For the skin, I used small pieces of card board and arranged them like a mosaic pattern.
I proceeded to use small pieces of teared up coloured paper for the details/decorations of the Terabai. For the headgear's head band, I used cut up paper. For the neckwear, I used green yarn and some buttons.
I used shredded newspaper as the feathers for the headgear and added for coloured paper to the Terabai.
Final results :
I added some more decorations such as the harvest and the "Selamat Hari Gawai" text using small pieces of coloured duct tape.
Finally, we are to use photoshop to edit the final poster result on the building of our college to showcase our work.
