Cardiovascular Disease Brochure

The project where I worked in partnership with local clinics to work in a multifunctional health team to create marketing materials to educate patients and their family members about the importance of heart health and cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Goal: Create Marketing Brochure within 30-days
The project assigned consisted of a team including the professor, myself, and a local health authority from a local primary care clinic.

Discovery (30 Days Left)
The process included research detailing symptoms and complications of CVD, demographics disproportionally affected by CVD, treatment for CVD, and preventative measures to take when discussing CVD. Patient-focused interviews were conducted to better understand the misinformation and unavailable education among patients affected by CVD.
Content Creation (25 Days Left)
Various common issues were recognized upon talking with patients affected by CVD, including lack of education on preventative measures of CVD, as well as treatment options. Due to these concerns, I was prompted to create a brochure to educate CVD patients and their families to better understand CVD, which populations are most affected, and lifestyle changes to incorporate while living with CVD.

User Flow Developed (20 Days Left)
Four different brochures were developed, and the final brochure was decided upon via a collaborative discussion between the clinic’s health professional, the professor, and me based upon the data and information provided in the brochure. Collectively, the team decided an informative brochure to provide preventative education.
Feedback Analysis (14 Days Left)
Based upon the feedback from the professor and the local physician, I updated the design of the brochure to better engage patients and family members in the waiting area of the clinic. The brochure initially focused on information specific to complications of CVD, but by creating brochures to engage the general public about the importance of heart health and prevention measures for CVD, the brochure is capable to reach a broader range of patients.

Review & Validation (5 Days Left)
After updating the content to engage the appropriate audience, the brochure was evaluated and confirmed by the collective team to print and display in the clinic’s waiting rooms.

Submission (On-Time)
The final content was submitted to be printed.

Results
Brochures were printed and handed to local community clinics for display in the waiting areas.
