San Francisco city branding, designed as part of an academic brief. The focus of the design takes inspiration from San Francisco's iconic steep hills that the city itself is built on. The grid system that I designed allowed me to create different sets of icons (landmarks, transportation, weather, food & drink), where each icon can live independently of one another while also having the option of combining itself to other icons and so "steepening" the hills of the design. This created a chain of interconnecting icons that together can be used to tell the story of SF in an interchangeable and interactive way, both in printable formats as well as digital ones that make the icons themselves come to life.
