Ghost-Gangshi- Artwork 2020

Illustrator: Loc Vo

Gangshi is known as a walking corpse in Chinese folklore, just as vampire or zombie in the West. According to legend, during the day, the zombie lies in the coffin  or hides in the dark places like the  cave, at night it wanders with its arms stretched out in front. It kills all living things to absorbgas. He separates the good and the bad; Corpses are divided into corpses and corpses. People become bad people when they don't live up to their expectations; The corpse becomes a corpse when it dies and contains accumulated resentment. If you live in this world, do good deeds, let go of hatred and resentment, so that after closing your eyes, you can rest your hands, not accumulating resentment but harming people who harm you.

The mysterious spiritual world always arouses curiosity in each of us. This curiosity, inadvertently, is an abundant source of inspiration for the imagination of artists. And that also made the artist Simon Phan, the co-founder of Kho Muc Studio, come up with the idea for the project 'HOT'. Dried Squid gathers everything into the zine publication 'HÙ', hoping it will be like a new treasure, saving young people's perspective on a mysterious spiritual world.

Darkroom exhibition - 'Go at night, you will see ghosts'
• Concept of exhibition in-the-night, installation space

Risograph printing technique uses special reflective ink on plain gold paper, this is a very unique and reasonable way of expressing the subject. The exhibition appears in a dark room, the customer shines a flashlight on the dimly lit paintings. This creates a truly mystical atmosphere of "July Ghosts".
