ARTIST STATEMENT : FASHION

          I choose fashion as my main subject in my artworks. Fashion is also one of the art form that existed in this world. Unfortunately, many people in this world does not seem know or alert about this. For example, just take a look at your place that your lived, the circle that care about it is less or none. Furthermore, they just consider this thing as a “rich people stuff”. So basically in my artwork, I want to show that everyone can be fashionable. As you can see I have made four different type of artwork and different type of outfits. If you look closely in the outfits, you can barely see any big brands or big logo in each pieces. This is because I want to teach people that fashion is not about “brand” that you wear, it is about how you wear or how you style them. I have picked and styled each pieces carefully and creatively on the figure. The technique that I approach in this artworks is mixed media art. The reason I choose this technique is because I want to show the “free” on it. You can do anything you want in mixed media creatively through your idea and taste. Then, this technique also shows the colourful of art world by applying any materials on it such as colour paper, water colour, printed paper etc. You can freely express your creativity on it and that is also what is about in fashion basically. A medium that allows you express yourself by mix and match any pieces. Fashion also shows who you really are as a person, it does not matter what you wear it is about how you wear. In my personal opinion, “your figure is your canvas, your clothes are your colours and how you painting them is up to you as an artist”.
