Robin Hood Anthropomorphic Character Designs
From left to right, the characters depicted from the Robin Hood stories are The Sheriff of Nottingham, Sir Guy of Gisbourne, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian, and Robin Hood.
First initial concept sketches of the characters. I tried to match their personalities, temperaments, and behaviors to the animal I chose to depict them as. I thought The Sheriff fit as a rhinoceros, Guy as a warthog, Friar as a bulldog, Marian as a russian blue cat, and Robin as a hyena.
There were quite a few iterations of their designs as you can see here. Though they generally kept a similar feel throughout the design process.
