Landing page for a deli in Tehran

Design challenge

Problem statement -

Design a landing page for a deli in Tehran.

Case study-

A deli or "Delicatessen" is a retail establishment that sells exotic or foreign prepared foods. It first originated in Germany

Tehran is a Metropolitan city in Iran that is famous for multiple historic monuments like Golestan Palace that was the seat of power for the Qajar dynasty, the Azadi tower, the National Jewellery Museum, and many more.

Some of the dishes that are the delicacies in Tehran, Iran are:

Abgoosht, a meat and bean broth dish.

Khoresht Gheimeh , a beef and split pea stew.

Baghali polo, a rice dish made by fava, green dill, and saffron

Page structure -

I decided to design a landing page that would have a hero image, a food menu consisting of the various food types found all over the world. I also design a section for beverages including alcoholic and non-alcoholic sections.

And lastly, a contact section that includes details like the working hours, the address, and a telephone number for the customers to get in touch with the deli.

Color palette-

I decided to go with a dark color theme for the color palette and used orange as my accent color as orange is often associated with food items.

I picked up colors from my images to help blend the overall theme with the images I chose.

Logo-

I used a script typeface for the logo of the deli to provide some character to the logo. I used a serving dome icon at the top of the typeface to help make the name of the deli relatable to food.

Body font-

I paired it with a sans-serif typeface for better contrast and readability and used various weights to determine the hierarchy of the titles.

Time taken-

Including research, It took me approximately 2.5 hours to complete the designs.
