Noises from machinery, kitchen equipment and cooking sounds were sampled on location in an artisanal pasta laboratory (Le Crisce - Arce, Italy) and incorporated into the piece. The cover art features an axonometric view of a single "penna rigata", as a tribute to the remarkable work "Pasta by Design" by George L. Legendre (3rd image, a spread from the book).
