I utilised the lighting to focus approachability towards her. Her face implies she’s comfortable and relaxed but is alone, positioned in one corner, given her shadow and the empty dark space next to her creates this feeling of isolation and a yearning for others to approach her.
I aimed to achieve an engagement of superiority and rebelliousness directed towards the audience. I photographed from a low position to heighten this feeling of superiority and intent, as she is looking down,
un‐phased, on the audience posing with her middle finger generating a rebelliousnature. The backdrop being dark with soft/warm light allows herface, pose and features to stand out and gives the composition a hardedge
feel.
