pla.net/pop (Album, Marketing, Identity)

This is the branding for 2DKAI's debut album, "pla.net/pop," inspired by everything from bubblegum trap to hyperpop.
For the album art, we wanted to embrace something free, something amorphous, something bold. Playing with luminosity, meshing celestial bodies, challenging pastels with vanta black strokes: an inviting planet that popped was what needed to be depicted here. How's it look it motion?
This was the promotional video we used upon the album's release.
A tradition we've got around here is reinterpreting the Team Future for every major album release. As you can see here, this planet version of the logo bears a NASA-inspired color scheme.
We've got a version with the vibrant textures in the ring...
...and a version with vibrant textures inside the "planet"...
...oh yeah, and a standard BW version.
Creating the premise, the setting of this fictional place while keeping things abstract and dream-like; this all played a part in the project's branding.
Interpreting those scenes once again for the tracklist proved satisfying.
As you can see here on the tracklist, a font set that spoke to the more sci-fi aspects of the aesthetic was what we felt was most appropriate.
Also, you may have noticed the black tab there on the bottom left. It houses some the logos/design elements that are tied to the project, like a new Boba Boyz bubble logo.
So yeah. That's "pla.net/pop" - thanks for scrolling.
