Sea Containers London
Sea Containers London is a luxury hotel, entertainment, leisure and wellness destination situated on the South Bank of the River Thames.
The tagline “Your Urban Resort” was used as a jumping-off point. In addition to the hotel, the building is also home to an award-winning restaurant, high-end bar, wellness spa and rooftop cocktail bar. The brief called for large-scale graphic artwork to advertise this range of amenities to the passing public.
A series of 8 large-format graphic art poster panels were commisioned. The vibrant colours and Brutalist architectural history of the South Bank informed the design process.
A custom typeface, inspired by the shapes found in the local Brutalist buildings was created. Vibrant, modernist colours and bold graphic patterns were designed for maximum visual impact. The artwork is situated on the side of the Sea Containers building, along the Thames riverside walkway.
