Dear Kayla: SAIC Undergraduate Thesis Show

My sister is about to enter college, and wants to go into the design field.  Looking back, there are so many things I wish I would've known about design when I was her age.  For my undergraduate thesis showpiece, I created a typographic installation, a "designer's library" of sorts, based word-for-word on an email I had written to her previously.  Putting a personal conversation into a public space, I invite the viewer to read the information as my sister, with pieces to interact with, including cards to take, magazines to read, and QR codes leading to design websites.
All text is originally, word-for-word, from an email written to my sister.  I sketched out design, then cut the text in vinyl, combined with some hand drawn type.
