PADC Skulls Showcase 2020

In any other year, the Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC) runs an annual awards show in November called The PADC Skulls. It’s the largest gathering of the commercial creative community in the state each year, judged internationally, enjoyed locally and attended by excited creatives all seeking to hold aloft one of the rare (and surprisingly heavy) Golden Skull trophies.
In 2020, the PADC did not hold the awards show.

They held a local COVID Survey, in which several members suggested the awards show be reformatted to suit the times, or delayed. It all seemed like a non-starter, which the PADC were not keen to move ahead with, especially considering this would be the 40th anniversary year of the Club. So from the ashes of 2020, an idea was born: to leave the awards out of it and get back to basics. In this year of social distancing, working from home and wearing masks, we gathered together Perth’s creative community in the WA Museum Boola Bardip to display and celebrate the work we had all done in this extremely challenging year.

It became the PADC Skulls Showcase.
