B&o Consumer Electronics Project

Following an initial research project into the sustainability issues surrounding the planned obsolescence of consumer electronics I was briefed to design a speaker which combats these issues.

The following portfolio details my response to the researched issues. This speaker is designed to allow for easy part separation as well as allowing for easy part replacement which not only prevents the disposal of the speaker as whole when a part breaks but also allows for the switching out of parts which enables the consumer to customise the speaker depending on their varying and changing tastes. This aids in ensuring the speaker can keep up with quick changing consumer trends and tastes.

As part of the project I was also tasked with designing the speaker so that a high fidelity prototype could be built. This portfolio details the instructions created to allow for a student in a lower year group to build the prototype.
