PROJECT CINEMIND's profile

Cinemind: Design [Usability Testing]

Once the prototype has been updated, I began reaching out to invite participants to the usability testing, prepared the consent forms and the script for the testing sessions.
Insights
I have collected the data and organised them into three groups: Likes, Confused, and Suggestions as seen in the summary board below. Some general insights include:

- The colour scheme and graphics were well-liked amongst participants;
- The films displayed on the film map screen are too small to be able to see clearly, and difficult to see which is is ongoing;
- The data result page is confusing because it is not clear that it shows results compared to others;
- The result page should highlight which ones the user’s answers were for reminder;
- The gradient colours of mood quadrants is inconsistent with the rest of the solid style colour scheme

Overall, participants’ interactions with the prototype happened as expected and error-free roughly 75% of the time.

Three of the participants were involved in the previous user research sessions and had some idea of the app. The other three came to the session with almost no prior knowledge and expectation of the app. This was a valuable opportunity to get those fresh perspectives as they noticed things that the others did not see, such as the data result page not being clear that it show other people’s results.

These data will be implemented to make changes in the future development of the app.
