The first drawing is inspired by something my Mum used to say. When someone would ask her “how do you have your tea?”, She would reply, “Black and sweet, like my men” (It’s the little things we miss about people we love when they are gone).

The second drawing is inspired by Aboriginal women because they are the least privileged in Australian culture. They do it tougher than everyone else. Want a job? If you’re an Aboriginal woman, you can go to the back of the line. Want to buy something at the newsagent? Wait till everyone else is served first. Most non-Aboriginal people don't even notice that they are being culturally insensitive because the Australian culture has mostly normalised it. Aboriginal women are strong to the core.
