Letter Pairing as Abstract Form
Final animation
This project is about create the animated letter composition. When I am doing this project, I found it very interesting about combining two typefaces. There are so many opportunities to create different combinations of lettering.
I like to combine thick and thin typeface (Such as Bodoni URW with Interstate), they look interesting together. I also enjoy using positive and negative spaces to create layers of the letters. Black and white letter look wonderful together.
However, there is a problem when I am doing the animation. Since the background is white, the letter with white color disappears when it is moving. It is good to see two letters together, but I also want to show two letters in animation. So I change the direction of the letters, which are the same moving directions for two letters.
In order to show some transformations, I also change the scale and the transparency of the letter. As a result, my white letter shows well as the top layer of the black letter in the animation. I also figure out that stroke is a good style to use. In another combination, I add a stroke for the white letter. The result shows petter well together and the letters are clear although they move separately in the animation.
