I decided to do another recreation of a classical painting in Adobe Illustrator. The painting I chose to recreate was a self portrait created by Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun. Le Brun titled her work Self-Portrait with Straw Hat and she created this painting in 1782. Le Brun was Marie Antionette's court painter and painted over 600 portraits of the well to do over her lifetime. Le Brun also completed over 200 landscapes. Essentially Le Brun was right in the middle of the French Revolution and was probably fortunate to have not had her head chopped off. There is a good Wikipedia page that describes Le Brun's life and career in an entertaining and informative way. Google it. You will be happy you did.
