Typographic Workbook

My final project post for this semester, and this one was one of the most intense this year! Introducing my typographic workbook, Sew You Want To Learn Typography. The title is a pun based off my design inspiration: embroidery. I love embroidery and there are many interesting styles to pull from existing packaging or the letters that people create when they embroider. I took inspiration from repeated patterns like in aida cloth or straight stitches and contrasted them with a more dynamic embroidery hoop that was placed more sporadically to break up pages. The project may have been intense, but it was still very fun, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
After designing this book, I did actually get to have it printed! The inside pages were done in black and white, but the cover was done in full, lovely color. Being able to actually see how the book looks in person is so helpful when it comes to refining (and it's just very cool to be able to flip through a book that you designed.)
Oh, and here's some bonus content for you: a refined version of some of my chapters!
Also, check out some of my process and ideation below!
