PROJECT 1: DESIGN STRATEGIES

STRATEGY 1: COMBINATION
In this similar shapes of the sun and umberella have been combined to make a fun image showcasing how the 2 objects are different but similar at the same time.

STRATEGY 2: JUXTAPOSITION
Umberallas are used for protection from the sun and rain. In this image juxaposition is created by challenge the use of the umbrella, instead it is night and the protection needed is from falling stars.
STRATEGY 3: ISOLATION
Amongst uniform rows of black umberellas, a rainbow umberella stands out as it is isolated by its differences from the surrounding umberellas.
STRATEGY 4: METAPHOR
In this metaphor, the umberella has become the rain cloud. It’s become what it’s supposed to be protecting you from.
STRATEGY 5: CHANGE OF CONTEXT
In this image, the umberella have become a fish bowl, forcing the view to look at the umberellla in a completely way.
STRATEGY 6: PHYSICAL/SHAPE SIMILARITY
The hook of the umberalla is a similar shape as a nose and the top of the umberella looks like a head making the shape similarity work great.
STRATEGY 7: MATERIAL CHANGE
This whimsical umberella is made of flowers, which as far as I am aware, is not a common material for umberellas to be made out of.
