The goal of this project is to make the National Geographic official website way more visual-appealing. As you can see, the original landing page to National Geographic's website resembles a news website and a lot of people might get bored just by looking at it.
In addition to that, some users might just want to look for specific things such as pictures or  the perfect location for their next vacation so I've decided to add and separate new categories.
The first challenge was to create an eye-catching landing page to persuade the users to explore the web furthermore with just a picture of a tiger so I decided to add the iconic yellow triangle to add the visuals and the number of tiger population left in the wild. You can find the original landing page with the original number, the updated number of tiger population, and the updated version of the carousel slideshow in the landing page.
The "NEWS" section is just like any other news website and pretty similar to the landing page: a huge image and some text to catch the user's attention and buttons to reveal the detail on another page.
When you scroll down, you will be greeted by the rest of the news available on the page (the original landing page of the official site of National Geographic). On the left, you have the newest stories sorted in a sequence based on their category, and on the right the news they want you to see and read.
The purpose of the dark background below the landing page is to make sure that the user's attention is focused on the picture and it is there to give contrast between the pictures and the background. In addition to that, you can organize the pictures displayed by their continents.
I do not own any of the pictures used, all credits goes to their respective artists.

I truly believe we can educate way more people just by getting them interested in the topic instead of providing the contents in an arguably boring way.
