Postcard to Congress: Legalization of medical marijuana

For this assignment, we were given the opportunity to produce a postcard regarding an important topic of our choice. In class we collectively brainstormed issues that are prevalent in the US today. Through personal experience as well as professional and educational sources, I decided tackle the conversation of marijuana. The battle with this plant has caused a divide in families, incarceration, large fines, and more. I decided to illustrate a bong filled with pink smoke symbolizing a sense of calmness, peace, and hope. "Patients not Criminals" speaks for itself. The flowers represent new life as we turn into a new age of natural and holistic medicine. Substances such as alcohol, tobacco and painkillers all have damaging affects to both the body and mind. These substances are chemically additive opposed to marijuana which contains no chemical addiction properties. Marijuana actually contains many positive properties however, anything good can turn into trouble depending on the person and mental state they are in. Below I provided a visual representation of the cause I choose to support both for public health as well as social injustice. I also provided links to resources to learn more about this new age of medical care.
