"The Plague"
Series of drawings commissioned by Bunkier – Gallery of Contemporary Art in Kraków.
The drawings were created as a part of WARM UP project – curated by Lidia Krawczyk – the short-term residency for artists, during which they created a journal of sorts, concentrated on everyday life in the city. My work depicts the fictional adventures of an unnamed everyman, who's spending his time on recreating artwork pieces in the comfort of his own home and contemplating the small life phenomena – usually unnoticed by the others.
All of the titles are borrowed from the artwork, movie or book titles (e. g. "Ashes and Diamonds”, "Tristes Tropiques" or "The Rite of Spring") in an attempt to reinterpret them in a more humoristical manner.
