the problem: to create a system of living spaces that incorporate areas
varying in function and form, but also to achieve a sense of cohesion through
connection between the campus and downtown area

the solution: the proposed dormitory balances opposing architectural
elements: opacity and transparency, solids and voids; yet a fluid path of
circulation is able to tie these elements together. public and private spaces
are arranged to show the relationship between the physicality of these
architectural elements and their performance, and experimentation with
design is evident.
