Advertising Project

For this project, I designed some posters as part of an advertising campaign for "KIXX" footwear. My target audience was young people who live an active lifestyle. I designed a logo for the shoes, featuring arrows in the X characters to create a feeling of movement. The two arrows are reminiscent of the fast forward symbol on a TV remote. I chose a bold italic font as this conveys a message of strength and speed. The brand's slogan is "do the extraordinary" which implies that the product will help the customer achieve their athletic goals.
The above two posters use humour and hyperbole to demonstrate just what can be achieved with the product - running as fast as a cheetah, or a Lamborghini. I used an attention grabbing header saying "KEEP UP." in all caps, which is a tongue in cheek instruction to the viewer. This use of the imperative imparts a motivational message. I chose "KEEP UP" as it is ambiguous - it could refer to keeping up with a speed, or keeping up with the trends.
For my third poster, I designed a shoebox for KIXX, and put a clear message: "trainers that won't hold you back". There is no real call to action, the purpose is simply brand reinforcement.
