jackrabbit - Brand Identity

jackrabbit (lowercase "j") writes, rehearses and records their music in a garage. With grungy guitars and growling vocals, the sound is rough and raw. When it came to designing the brand identity, I wanted to convey the authentic and untreated nature of the band’s sound. My approach to this was to use analogue design elements and gritty, black and white photography. I wanted the brand to feel full of life, and not watered-down or synthesised by technology.

To further communicate the honesty and loudness of the band’s sound, I wanted to put the designs right in the viewer’s face. This involved using very close-up shots of faces and big typography.
