At the end of August whilst flipping through the pages of Cosmopolitan magazine, I noticed they were running a cover design competition for their ultimate women awards. I have always wanted to experience working in editorial design so I decided to give it a go.

 

A couple of weeks had gone by and I totally forgot about it, until I received a call to say I had been shortlisted to the final 6!

 

I was so happy because I have always had really bad confidence issues with my design work, so to be in the final 6 was such a personal boost.

 

The next week I travelled down to London to attend a judging day in front of the magazines editor-in-chief and the creative director, as well as two members from the sponsors: vauxhall adam.

 

I had an amazing day, had my hair and make-up professionally done, had loads of photos and videos taken all day, which took some getting used to, and it was great meeting the other finalists and seeing what they had come up with.

The finalist is going to be announed on December 5th at their award ceremony, and the judging day is having a double page spread in the January issue, so keep you eyes peeled.
